Our commitment to you
Terms of use
The agreement between you and the church when you use 3CLove. It is short, and it is meant to be read.
If anything here reads as though it were written to trip you up, tell us and we will rewrite it.
3CLove is run by CCC Mountain of New Glory, at 14 Lockett Street, Cheetham Hill, Manchester M8 8EE. Using it means agreeing to what follows. If you do not agree, please do not create an account.
Nothing here takes away a right you have under United Kingdom consumer law. Where the two disagree, the law wins.
Who may joinRead moreCloseAdults who are free to marry, and who take this seriously.
You may create an account if you are:
- eighteen or over;
- living in the United Kingdom;
- free to marry: never married, divorced, or widowed. 3CLove is not for anybody currently married or in a civil partnership;
- willing to prove who you are with a passport, driving licence or national identity card;
- looking for marriage, which is what this ministry is for.
One account per person. You may not create an account for somebody else or hand yours to anybody.
What is expected of youRead moreCloseBe who you say you are, and treat other members as people from your own congregation.
You agree that you will not:
- put anything untrue on your profile, including somebody else's photograph;
- ask another member for money, or take money from one;
- harass, threaten, or keep contacting somebody who has stopped answering;
- post anything obscene, or anything a member of this congregation would be ashamed to see in church;
- share another member's photographs, messages or details outside 3CLove;
- use 3CLove to sell anything, to recruit for anything, or to promote another platform;
- try to get at parts of the platform that are not yours, or work around the checks that keep members safe.
The acceptable use policy sets these rules out in full, with what happens when somebody breaks them. It is part of these terms.
Our safety baselineRead moreCloseTrafficking, exploitation and abuse are never allowed. Any of them ends an account and is reported to the police.
These rules apply to every member without exception, on 3CLove and in anything that follows from a connection made on it. You must never:
- take part in, promote or facilitate human trafficking, including trafficking for sexual exploitation, forced labour or domestic servitude;
- aid, abet, encourage or facilitate the abuse or exploitation of any person, whether sexual, financial, physical or emotional;
- offer, ask for or arrange sex, an escort or any kind of paid companionship;
- do anything that sexualises, endangers or exploits a child.
Breaking any of these is grounds for closing your account at once, without warning. The church reports it to the police, keeps what the police may need, and does not let the person join again. The church may also close an account where it reasonably believes somebody has done one of these things, or that their presence on 3CLove puts somebody at risk.
What we may doRead moreCloseFreeze, suspend or close an account, with a person making every lasting decision.
The church may freeze, suspend or close an account where a member breaks these terms or the acceptable use policy, including the safety baseline above, where somebody may be at risk, or where we cannot satisfy ourselves that a member is who they say they are.
Where somebody may be at risk we act first and look into it afterwards. Where an automatic check finds something serious, the account is paused until a person has looked. Every decision to suspend or close an account is made by a person from the parish, and every one is recorded with who made it and when.
If your account is closed for breaking these terms, the registration fee is not returned.
PayingRead moreCloseOne registration fee, everything optional, and Stripe takes the card.
The church asks for a registration fee once. Everything a member needs in order to meet somebody is free: matching, connecting, messaging and calling.
Optional extras run for a stated period and end on their own. They never buy access to a member and never change who you are matched with.
The church is the seller. Payments are taken by Stripe, our payment provider, who handle the card details, so the church never receives a card number.
The registration fee and any extra you have not started are refunded in full within fourteen days. An extra already running is refunded for the part you have not had. A gift to the parish is a gift and is not refundable, unless it was clearly a mistake, in which case write to us and we will put it right.
The refund policy sets out how to ask and how long it takes. It is part of these terms, and where the two ever differ the refund policy is the one we keep to.
What we cannot promiseRead moreCloseThat you will meet somebody, and that every member is telling the truth.
3CLove introduces people. It cannot promise that you will meet anybody, or that anybody you meet will suit you. No church can promise that.
Every member proves their identity with a document and a live video, checked by our software or by a person from the parish, which is a great deal more than most platforms do. It is still not a promise about anybody's character or intentions. Use your judgement, take the advice on our safety page seriously, and tell us when something is wrong.
We work to keep the platform running and to keep what is on it safe, but we cannot promise it will never be unavailable. Nothing in this section limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
Your words and photographsRead moreCloseThey stay yours. You let us show them to other members while your account is open.
What you write and the photographs you upload remain yours. By publishing a profile you give the church permission to show them to other signed-in, verified members, and to store copies at the sizes the platform needs.
That permission ends when you take the content down or close your account. We do not use your photographs in advertising, and we would ask you first if we ever wanted to use your story anywhere.
Ending itRead moreCloseYou may leave whenever you like.
You can close your account at any time by writing to the church office. What has to be kept afterwards, and for how long, is set out in the privacy notice.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales settle any dispute about them.
If we change these terms in a way that affects you, we will tell members before the change takes effect.
Last changed on 16 October 2026. We will say here when it changes again, and tell members directly if the change affects what we do with their information.
