Our commitment to you
Cookies
Four cookies, all of them needed to sign you in and keep you there. No advertising, no analytics, and no banner asking your permission, because there is nothing here to permit.
| Name | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| ccclove_access | Keeps you signed in from one page to the next. | Minutes. It is replaced quietly while you use the site. |
| ccclove_refresh | Lets you come back later without signing in again. | Until it expires or you sign out. |
| ccclove_csrf | Proves a form was sent from this site and not from another one that happened to have your browser open. It is the one cookie here the page itself can read, because sending it back is how it does its job. | As long as your sign-in does. |
| ccclove_viewing | Set only when an administrator is looking at the platform as a member, so the warning banner can name whose account is on the screen. | Fifteen minutes at most, and cleared the moment they stop. |
Why there is no banner
United Kingdom law requires your consent for cookies that are not strictly necessary: advertising, analytics, anything that follows you around. 3CLove sets none of those. Every cookie above exists to sign you in and keep you there, and the law does not ask us to interrupt you for those.
The two that carry your session cannot be read by scripts running in the page, which is what stops a stolen cookie being the end of the story. The one that guards forms is readable on purpose: the page has to send it back for it to prove anything, and on its own it grants nothing.
When you pay
Paying takes you to a payment page belonging to Stripe, our payment provider, which sets its own cookies on its own site to run the payment and to stop fraud. Those are theirs, not ours, and you meet them only when you choose to pay.
Turning them off
Every browser lets you refuse or delete cookies. If you refuse ours, signing in will not work, because staying signed in is what they do. You can still read everything public here: the ministry pages, events, writing, and every page you are reading now.
