Our commitment to you
Safeguarding
How this church protects children and adults at risk, who to contact, and what happens when a concern is raised.
If somebody is in immediate danger
Telephone the police on 999. Do not wait to report it here first.
What this church commits to
- Nobody under eighteen
- 3CLove is for adults seeking marriage. Every member gives a date of birth and proves it with photographic identification before they can be seen by anybody. An account we believe belongs to a child is closed immediately and reported.
- A concern goes to a person, the same day
- Reports do not sit in a queue waiting for a machine to score them. A safeguarding concern reaches the administration straight away, and a named person is responsible for what happens next.
- We act before we investigate
- Where somebody may be at risk, the account is frozen first and looked into afterwards. Getting that order the wrong way round is how people get hurt.
- We involve the authorities when we should
- Where a criminal offence may have been committed, or a child or an adult at risk may have been harmed, the church reports it to the police and to the local authority. We do not handle those internally to protect the church's reputation.
- You will be told what happened
- If you report somebody, we tell you that it was dealt with. We do not tell you what was decided about the other person, because that is theirs.
- Reporting somebody costs you nothing
- The person you report is never told who reported them. Blocking is silent. Nobody has ever been penalised here for raising a concern in good faith.
Raising a concern
Inside 3CLove, use Report. It sits in every conversation and on every profile, and it reaches the administration straight away.
If it is about somebody who is not a member, or you would rather not use the platform, telephone or write to the church. You can raise a concern about anybody, including somebody who holds an office in the parish.
